Emergency Plumbing

Urgent plumbing response during office hours for active leaks, burst lines, and failures that make a bathroom or kitchen unusable.

When people call us about emergency plumbing

  • Water running where it should not be and not stopping
  • A burst or split supply line, especially after a hard freeze
  • A shutoff that will not close, or that you cannot find
  • A backup that has taken the only bathroom out of service
  • Water near an electrical panel, outlet, or appliance

How we handle it

  • Stop the water first. Everything else is secondary while it is still running.
  • Find the actual source rather than the place the water appeared — those are often different rooms.
  • Make it safe and stable, then quote the repair once the damage has stopped spreading.
  • Document the condition for your insurer if the water got into finishes.

What we check before quoting

  • Main shutoff condition and whether it fully closes
  • The failed section and what caused it — freeze, corrosion, age, or pressure
  • Whether adjacent runs are in the same condition and about to do the same thing
  • Any water contact with electrical equipment

Emergency Plumbing FAQs

Are you available overnight or at weekends?

No. Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and we do not run an on-call rotation. We would rather be straight about that than have you waiting on a call that is not coming. Shutting off the main stops the damage in the meantime.

How do I shut the water off?

Most Baltimore-area homes have a main shutoff where the supply enters the house — often a basement wall facing the street, near the meter. Turn it clockwise until it stops. Individual fixtures usually have their own stop valve underneath. If the main will not close, that is worth a call on its own, before it becomes urgent.

What counts as urgent?

Water you cannot stop, sewage backing up into the house, water reaching electrical equipment, or losing the only working bathroom. Slow drains, a dripping tap, or a water heater that is merely old are real problems but they are scheduled work, and treating them as emergencies usually costs you money without getting a better repair.

Office hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We are not a 24-hour service — calls outside those hours reach voicemail and are returned the next business day.
