Leak Detection & Burst Pipe Repair

Finding and repairing water leaks — including the ones showing up on the bill rather than on the floor.

When people call us about leak detection & burst pipe repair

  • A water bill that has risen without a change in use
  • A damp patch, stain, or soft spot on a wall, ceiling, or floor
  • The sound of water running with everything turned off
  • Warm spots on a floor, which can indicate a hot-line leak
  • A burst or split line after a freeze

How we handle it

  • Confirm there is a leak before hunting for one — the meter test settles that quickly.
  • Narrow it down by isolating sections rather than opening walls speculatively.
  • Repair the failed section and check whether adjacent runs are in the same state.
  • Document what was found, which matters if you are making an insurance claim.

What we check before quoting

  • Meter movement with all fixtures closed
  • Supply line material and age — galvanised and early plastics fail predictably
  • Pressure, since high supply pressure causes repeat failures
  • Freeze exposure on exterior walls, crawl spaces, and unheated runs

Leak Detection & Burst Pipe Repair FAQs

How can I tell if I have a hidden leak?

Turn off every fixture and watch the water meter. If it is still moving, water is going somewhere. That one test is the difference between a real leak and a billing question, and it costs nothing to do before you call anyone.

What should I do about a burst pipe right now?

Shut off the main immediately — that stops the damage regardless of when anyone can attend. Then open a low tap to drain the pressure. Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM; outside them you will reach voicemail, so shutting off is the step that actually protects the house.

Why do pipes burst in winter here?

Water expands as it freezes, and the split usually appears where a line runs through an unheated space — a crawl space, an exterior wall, a garage. The damage often shows up when it thaws rather than when it freezes, which is why the first sign is frequently water rather than no water.

Office hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We are not a 24-hour service — calls outside those hours reach voicemail and are returned the next business day.
